Surplus Overages Services™

Recovering Funds That May Rightfully Belong to You

Tax sales, foreclosure sales, trustee sales, sheriff sales, and similar proceedings may generate funds above the debt, taxes, liens, fees, and other amounts due. Depending on the jurisdiction, these funds may be described as surplus funds, excess proceeds, or overages. Reed & Associates provides administrative research, documentation, and claim-process support for individuals and organizations seeking to understand and navigate the applicable process.

Potential funds are not guaranteed, and eligibility, procedures, deadlines, documentation requirements, permissible services, and fees may vary by jurisdiction.

Potential Claimants

Could There Be Funds Available to You?

Potential claimants may include former property owners, heirs or estates, businesses or entities with a potential interest, and other parties with a legally recognized interest.

Administrative Support

How Reed & Associates Can Assist

01

Preliminary Administrative Research

Review available property, sale, court, taxing-authority, and other relevant public records to help identify potential administrative next steps.

02

Record & Document Organization

Organize notices, public records, property information, correspondence, and claimant-provided materials for a clearer administrative record.

03

Claim-Process Coordination

Coordinate administrative claim-process steps with the relevant office or authority, without providing legal advice or determining legal rights.

04

Administrative Documentation Support

Provide nonlegal administrative document organization, clerical assistance, and submission coordination. Where a matter requires substantive paralegal or legal-document support, that work is provided under the direction or supervision of a licensed attorney where required by applicable law and jurisdiction.

05

Status & Follow-Up Coordination

Track administrative status and coordinate appropriate follow-up where included within the engagement.

Professional Boundaries

Some Matters Require an Attorney

Not every surplus matter is simply an administrative claim. Matters requiring independent legal counsel include disputed ownership, competing claims, probate or heirship questions, litigation, interpretation of legal rights, complex lien priorities, court representation, or other matters requiring legal advice or representation.

When legal services are required, Reed & Associates does not substitute for a licensed attorney.

Engagement Path

Our Process

Initial Inquiry

Tell us about the property, sale, notice, or potential funds.

02

Preliminary Review

We review the information to determine whether the matter appears appropriate for Reed & Associates' administrative support scope.

03

Scope & Engagement

Proposed administrative services, engagement structure, applicable fees, and next steps are provided before work begins.

04

Research & Documentation

We perform the agreed administrative research, records review, document organization, and coordination.

05

Submission & Follow-Up

We coordinate submission and follow-up where included in the engagement and legally permissible.

Scope Review

Jurisdiction Matters

Surplus-fund procedures are not uniform across the United States. Requirements may differ by state, county, court, taxing authority, foreclosure process, type of sale, claimant status, and individual circumstances.

Deadlines, documentation requirements, permissible fees, and permissible recovery-assistance activities may also vary. Reed & Associates evaluates the appropriate administrative scope before accepting an engagement and may decline or refer matters requiring services outside that scope.

Engagement scope and applicable fees are determined following preliminary review and are subject to applicable jurisdictional requirements.

Confidential Initial Review

Dedicated Surplus Overages Intake

Provide the available property, sale, and notice information. The team will review whether the matter appears appropriate for Reed & Associates' administrative support scope.

Secure document upload is not available through this initial form. The team will provide separate instructions if documents are needed after review.

Do not submit Social Security numbers, bank or routing numbers, passwords, account credentials, full government identification numbers, or confidential documents through this initial inquiry.

Think You May Have Surplus or Excess Proceeds Associated With a Property?

Share the information currently available so Reed & Associates can conduct a preliminary review, identify the appropriate administrative scope, and explain potential next steps without promising eligibility, recovery, timing, or outcome.
